While 'Gravity' outnumbered all competitors by winning the maximum number of awards tonight, Matthew McConaughey swept away the Best Actor Award for his spectacular performance in Dallas Buyers Club. After running through a neck-and-neck competition, actress Cate Blanchett bagged the Best Actress Award for Blue Jasmine leaving behind strong contenders Amy Adams and Sandra Bullock.

The event saw other laugh out loud moments as well when Ellen DeGeneres collected money for pizza and pocketed it. But she gets only lip balm from actress and winner of Best Supporting Actress for 12 Years A Slave Lupita Nyong'o. Not just that, the Oscars 2014 made headlines and broke record as a 'selfie' put up by Ellen with a lot of Hollywood stars became the most re-tweeted picture ever!
