“SAVE THE FUTURE” project is envisioned by Col. K. C. Mishra, VSM, Chief Postmaster General, Maharashtra Circle, India Post. This campaign is supported by Reliance Capital Asset Management, Mumbai, International Collectors’ Society of Rare Items, Pune & Katha-Kosa, Mumbai.

There are two parallel tracks of this project and they need to be done simultaneously. One is “Save the Earth” & the other is”Save the Girl Child”. Both these missions go hand-in-hand to save the future. Savings the planet is inevitable and the saving the girl child for future human development is also crucial. Both the planet and its people are important for survival in this solar system. Both of them are being abused and ignored and hence we all need to highlight and work on these two very important issues for the sustainable future growth. 

Imagine what happens to the future earth if all the trees are cut, water become scarce, temperature rises, diseases spread and the entire environment goes for toss? “Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s need, but not every man’s greed” – Mahatma Gandhi.

Gift a plant, plant trees, protect the trees, and care them till you survive, tell your children to protect them in their lifetime too. Create more water bodies, refill the ground water, use solar or wind power, lower the carbon footprints and so on, Think!

Imagine what happened to the planet that houses more males and hardly any females. Everyone wants son and the daughter becomes extinct. What happens to the future generation? What happens to celebrations like Raksha-bandhan or Bhai Dhooj, or Wedding etc.? May be these celebrations also will not exist. There would be no weddings, and no other celebrations. What happens to the few remaining females? What happens to the birth of future generations? Girls Are Pearls, save them. Someone rightly said that our mother is also female and if she does not exist neither do we.

Write an essay, a story and give us suggestions, solutions, points and anything related to these two subjects to “Save the Future”. You can write it on a Postcard, inland letter or send in a postal envelope using not more than two A4 size pages. The choice is yours. However, it should be posted via India Post only, through any medium, such as ordinary post, speedpost, registered post, e-post and so on, if in India.

The best letters would be awarded and all ideas would be seriously considered and passed on to those competent authorities to whom it matters. So open your thoughts, let your ideas run and send them to us.

The background, tools and techniques of promotion movement, rules of participations and other details will be shared during flag-off ceremony “SAVE THE FUTURE”, campaign will be flagged off by Shri Jayantkumar Banthia IAS Chief Secretary Govt. of Maharashtra in august presence of dignitaries invited for the purpose.
